A Corvette by Any Other Name… Would Still Be a Retired Styling Car.

Allow me to introduce you, dear auto savants, to the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette, bestowed as a special one-off styling car to the iconic retired General Motors Styling Department Chief Harley Earl. A visionary who not only collected masterpieces, but became one.

The year 1963. A time when style and muscle seemed to be what shaped the world. Birch Bayh of Indiana introduced Equal Rights Amendment in the Senate, and on our streets, the Corvette styled by Harley Earl roamed free.

Possibly served as a reminder that while equal rights amendment wasn’t passed, style and power were equally important for a car. Interestingly, this very Corvette kissed the Palm Beaches of Florida, revived by the midas touch of Harley Earl himself.

And in a hum of automobile history, it’s notable that Mr. Earl had the distinct honor of being Grand Marshal for the 1965 Daytona 500, parading this reliable classic during pre-race laps. That actually catapulted this vehicle stratosphere high into nationwide recognition.

Bear witness to the spectacle as our machine devours the harsh asphalt, kissing corners while recoiling away from the constraints of everyday vehicles. The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette isn’t just a vehicle—it’s a time capsule, offering an exhilarating slice of the historical highway.

Even when idle, this car commands attention. Make it yours, and former chums will be glimpsing at their routine-humbled vehicles, grappling with palpable regret.
This 1963 sweetheart is up for auction in Kissimmee, Florida. For anyone with coolant running through their veins and petroleum bubbling in their hearts, it’s high time you take a gander here.

Now, a gentle nod to my wonderfully patient sponsor, Global Self Storage in East Hampton, CT. Remember, make new friends but keep the old; those are silver, these are … Oldsmobile? Well, not quite, but you get the gist.

Stay tuned for the next thrilling encounter with the vehicular zeitgeist of bygone days.
